SAFETY AT HELIGO

It is a known fact that SAFETY is the customer's first priority while choosing the Service Provider in the Aviation Industry. Safety has become a culture and this encompasses every individual in the company – be it the Management, Air Crew, Maintenance Crew, Administration Personnel and the Non technical personnel – all are considered vital to the team in enhancing the safety culture. The company has a full time Safety Officer (as Chief of Flight Safety ) who has huge experience in all aspects of aviation.

HELIGO has a published Safety Policy and continuously strives to be comparable to the best in the aviation industry with an aim to have ZERO accident rate. HELIGO does act proactively, to maintain and improve its safety performance.

HELIGO is committed to build and ensure safety in all its operations, be it in air or on ground.

The SMS manual defines how HELIGO intends to manage safety to be conducted as an integral part of business management activities and every employee in every department contributes to the safe operations of the company.

Accidents are extremely expensive and hence it is more cost effective to put in place all safety precautions and avoid the accidents at all costs. Thus Safety is given the highest priority in the company and it overrides commercial and operational considerations.

Quality Department of HCPL

Quality Department of HCPL comprises administrative and procedural activities implemented in a Quality System so that requirements and goals for the service or activity are fulfilled. It is the systematic measurement, comparison with a standard, monitoring of processes and an associated feedback loop that confers error prevention.

HCPL is approved by DGCA, India, to undertake maintenance activities of Bell 412, Leonardo AW139, Airbus AS 365 N3 and Airbus H145 Helicopters. Apart from Regulatory approvals, HCPL also holds certification for Quality Management System Standard-ISO 9001:2008, for the provision of Air Logistics Services (helicopter services for offshore and onshore operation) issued by Indian Register Quality System (IRQS).

Key tasks of the Quality department include:

  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate maintenance standards and regulations through a structured monitoring and audit program.
  • Evaluation of policies / Procedures in light of change in regulatory requirement / organisational experience and continual improvement.
  • Manage approvals, authorisations and licenses of all certifying staff and support staff.
  • Ensuring that all technical staff undergo requisite training (initial/refresher) as well as other related training (i.e. Human Factors, First Aid, Fire Fighting),

HCPL also maintains a detailed Quality Audit program to ensure Airworthiness, Compliance and Safety Standards are of the highest order. The audit team comprises a mix of dedicated staff, as well as additional resources drawn from across the company, all of whom are well qualified (IRCA certified) and experienced aviation personnel.

Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO)

Heligo Charters Private Limited (HCPL), under able leadership has a well-established, efficiently guided and enthuse CAMO set-up. The CAMO is approved by Indian regulator. DGCA, under the provisions of CAR–M for managing the continuing state of airworthiness for four different types of helicopters at present; namely Bell 412, Leonardo AW 139, Airbus AS 365N3 (Dauphin) and Airbus H145. The CAMO manages all airworthiness related activities of these helicopters and monitors technical requirements to be complied to an approved standard by the organisation and personnel involved in the maintenance before any flight takes place. It also ensures that the organisation remains in conformity with the applicable regulatory requirements and manufacturer’s guidelines always.

To maintain a continuous improvement, to remain up-to-date and to ensure all activities remain compliant, the CAMO is also subjected to a stringent internal audit system twice in a year under its own Quality Program.

QHSSE

The Company has a robust QHSSE culture which is all pervading in the Company systems. Not only is HCPL an ISO 9001-2008, ISO 14001-2004 and OHSAS 18001-2007 certified company from IRQS but it also possesses a well developed Safety Management System, which is overseen by the Company’s Chief of Flight Safety. The facilities of the Company undergo stringent and regular internal & third party Aviation Audits from abroad at the behest of the clients to ensure that best safety practices are followed by the company at all times.

TECHNICAL COLLABORATION

HCPL has a Technical Collaboration with M/s. Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA), one of the largest helicopter operators in the world with a fleet of 81 owned and serviced helicopters majority of which are the Bell 412 and the AW 139 with over Million flight hours of experience since 1976 . ADA remains at the very cutting edge of technology and experience in helicopter services as being one of the largest AW 139 operators in the world. This collaboration ensures unlimited access to both HCPL & ADA to either company’s experienced manpower, training, aircraft, spares, tools, safety and any other technical know-how for maintaining world class aviation standards.
